“ | Kane didn't steal it. He made it. He's got the Tacitus! - General Vega's final words |
” |
The Scrin Ship was a seemingly extraterrestrial vessel constructed by the Brotherhood of Nod at the end of the First Tiberium War. It was stored in a secret underground hangar which was accessible only from the original Temple of Nod at Sarajevo.
Description[]
The ship was easily as large as one of the carriers used by the Global Defense Initiative during the 2030s.[1] The GDI reconnaissance team which first found the vessel after its crash landing stated that they didn't believe humans built it, though in this, they were mistaken.
History[]
“ | This is some crazy technology... - GDI commander Michael McNeil exploring the vessel's interior |

Origins[]
Seemingly an alien craft, the mysterious ship had been constructed by the Brotherhood of Nod near the end of the First Tiberium War. Its design was based off of knowledge that Nod had extracted from the Tacitus device. The vessel was an attempt by Kane and his science ministers to precisely replicate and eventually reverse-engineer real Scrin technology, in a bid to give the Brotherhood a decisive technological advantage over the Global Defense Initiative.[2][3]
Abandonment[]
The ship had been stored away in a well-hidden underground hangar near the first Temple of Nod at Sarajevo during the end stage of the First Tiberium War. Though Nod's access to the vessel was lost when GDI overran the area,[4] their troops never discovered the secret hangar in which it was housed and GDI would remain oblivious to the ship's existence for more than two decades. Excavations in progress during the early stages of the Second Tiberium War, however, brought GDI uncomfortably close to first discovering the vessel.[5]
Recovery and crash[]

The ship after Cesar Vega crash landed it in the southern United States
Kane ordered Anton Slavik and Cesar Vega to secure the old Temple and recover the ship before GDI's excavation bore fruit.[5][4] Vega reached the underground hangar first, but rather than return the vessel to Kane in Cairo, he tried to fly it to South America to "settle an old score". However, Vega was unable to control the ship, and he crashed it in GDI's Sector 9 in the southern United States.[4] GDI commander Michael McNeil quickly moved in to secure the crash site.[1]
Forces of the Brotherhood attempted to destroy the vessel before GDI could investigate it but were held off by McNeil's troops. However, Nod had successfully recovered technology from the ship prior to losing control of the crash site, and had booby-trapped the ship.[6] Umagon, a mutant woman and scout of the Forgotten, revealed herself to McNeil while he explored the vessel's interior.[6][1]
Nod's search for the Tacitus[]
A crucial detail of the entire affair was that the Tacitus itself had been stored inside the vessel at the time Nod was forced to abandon it during the end stages of the First Tiberium War. Consequently, when general Vega crashed the ship in the southern United States, Kane immedately tasked Anton Slavik to recover the Tacitus at all costs before it could be removed from the vessel by either Vega's forces or the GDI. The Tacitus, however, was nowhere to be found, and the Nod search party that regained control of the ship from GDI was ambushed and killed by mutants.[7]
It turned out that the Forgotten had taken the Tacitus from the ship back in Sarajevo at the behest of their leader Tratos, some time before Vega had tried to fly it to South America. Ironically, the search for the fugitive mutant woman named Umagon would lead Nod to the Forgotten base where the Tacitus was actually being held.
Destruction[]
The ship was finally destroyed by GDI forces after Nod briefly regained control of the ship as part of their search for the Tacitus.
